SEER What?!

"SEER" should not mystify you.

If you need to purchase a new A/C system, you have no doubt been presented various SEER-rating options.  These determine the efficiency and initial cost of your unit.  A higher SEER rating will cost you more initially, but you will save money in the long run.  The question often becomes, yes, but how much?

The Details: Numbers

Basically, the higher the seer rating, the more money you save on your air conditioning bills. SEER stands for "Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating"--aka how much electricity is this thing gonna eat up this summer?!

Marathon Air can guide you through the options and help you decide which SEER is right for you. Just a few short years ago, the feds created a new regulation that require all newly manufactured air conditioning units to have at least a 13 SEER rating. However, the choices range from 13 all the way to 21.

How much can you save on higher SEER?

Well, for every $100 you spend running an 8 SEER air conditioning unit, you would save:

$12 on a 9 SEER AC unit (spending only $88).

$19 on a 10 SEER system (spending only $81).

$27 on an 11 SEER air conditioner (spending only $73).

$33 on a 12 SEER HVAC unit (spending only $67).

$38 on a 13 SEER Commercial Air Conditioners (spending only $62).

$42 on a 14 SEER A/C (spending only $58).

$46 on a 15 SEER AC unit (spending only $54).

$49 on a 16 SEER HVAC unit (spending only $51).

$52 on a 17 SEER air conditioners (spending only $48).

$55 on an 18 SEER A/C system (spending only $45).
